The Rakeiora Genomics Platform is the output of the Rakeiora pathfinder program, which was commissioned by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) through Genomics Aotearoa to generate an infrastructure that enables high impact research in Aotearoa New Zealand using linked genomic and health care information.
It is a collaboration between University of Otago, Ngāti Porou Oranga, Ira Tātai Whakaheke, Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR), Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland, Genomics Aotearoa and New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) and was co-led with Māori partners and has drawn on Kaupapa Māori and Action Learning methodologies.
Rakeiora comprises two research projects, in primary and in tertiary health, utilising genomic, health and whakapapa data to test computational systems in order to create a pilot Precision Medicine Research Platform, the Rakeiora Genomics Platform.
More detailed information can be found on the Genomics Aotearoa site. If you have questions about the platform or would like to sign up as an early user, please contact rakeiora@nesi.org.nz.
