This page outlines the terms and conditions of use for the Rakeiora Genomics Platform (Rakeiora Platform) and related resources and analysis environment.

Information about us

Rakeiora is a pathfinder for genomic medicine in Aotearoa. It is a collaboration between University of Otago, Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR), Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland, Ngāti Porou Oranga, Ira Tātai Whakaheke and Genomics Aotearoa. New Zealand eScience Infrastructure, in collaboration with mana whenua and the Rakeiora Project team have built the infrastructure. NeSI’s terms and conditions can be found on the main NeSI website.

Indemnity

The Rakeiora Platform is an information resource for research, designed to help understand the relationships between genetics and disease.

This resource is currently a prototype, it provided "as is" without any representations or warranties of any kind. Of note there will also be compute limitations if attempting to analyze large numbers of samples at once (over 60 at one go).

Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in full is a requirement of using the Rakeiora Platform and related resources.

We reserve the right to make changes to this website at any time without notice.

You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes.

Acceptable use policy

Our acceptable use policy describes the terms under which visitors may use this Rakeiora Platform and related resources and analysis environment. Access to the data is governed by the Kaitaki and is part of a separate data access agreement.

In the event of a breach of this acceptable use policy, we reserve the right to take any or all of the following actions in order to prevent further breaches:

Disruptive behaviour

Users of the website are not permitted to interact with the site in such a way that their actions may cause excessive or prolonged load on our servers or databases. Such actions can cause the site to slow down or become unavailable for other users, and we reserve the right to take such action as we deem appropriate in order to mitigate such disruption to others.

Unauthorised use

Only to use the Rakeiora Platform and related resources and analysis environment for the purposes for which you were given access, i.e. as specified in an approved Research Project. To comply with any special conditions and licence conditions that may apply to particular software packages you choose to use.

Registration

Users intending to interact with the Rakeiora Platform will need to register before they are able to do this.

Email

If you register for a Rakeiora Platform account, from time to time we will need to contact you about your account. These emails may be regarding re-validating your email address, replying to account queries, or providing updates on Rakeiora resources, such as notifications of downtime or systems maintenance. We will not send you emails for any other non-essential reasons.

Agreeing to receive these account-related emails is a condition of the account registration.
